four trios are remote controlled, ALL unaware of what the others play. headphones with the music score inside ear protection so they can only hear themselves. wearing face masks, so they can’t connect with the other musicians.

SYNTHESIZERS THAT ONLY WORK WITH FRUIT

 

 

this is a series of synthesizers where fruit, meat or plants are part of the sound synthesis. apple synth, pear synth, orange synth  need their respective fruit in order to work. the synth sense the freshness of the fruit. the fresher fruit, the more dynamic sound. 

A WALL MORPHING TIME AND SPACE

 

 

the time wall is a wall sculpture with built in cameras, a powerful graphic computer and a projector mounted in the ceiling. the visitors see themselves, in real time, from strange angles, warped, delayed and distorted. 

PROGRAMMING MUSIC IN 3D WITH RUBIK'S CUBES

 

 

the rubik’s cube sequencer. camera + light mounted over a game board, color recognizing algorithm plays sounds in a chrome web sequencer, horizontal = 16 beat loop, vertical = low pitch – high pitch or different drum sounds, 16 cubes ( 4x4x4) with different colors, each color representing a musical instrument.

the candy synth is a color recognising, 4 channel sequencer where each candy control one instrument. by placing them on the board you create rhythms and melodies. m&m are the preferred instruments as the systems find them easy to read – and they taste nice as well.

 

MUSIC CREATION IN VR

 

 

 

vrdj is for htc vive, oculus Rift and mobiles. both as a unity project and for web vr. the player control 24 synchronized musical loops that can be layered, mixed and tweaked with a series of effects. surrounded in 360° by loops and effects, using the controllers in all directions in a futuristic sphere, floating above a club crowd, the interaction becomes very physical, aiming to bring the physical and spatial experience to dj-ing, just like playing a real instrument.
